Career Options After Class 12th: List of Teacher Courses
- Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (BA BEd) Integrated Course:
Students can pursue the BA BEd integrated programme after class 12th in any stream, with English subject. Students can pursue this dual degree course by selecting the specific subject as per their interest. The duration of this course is five years. Students will also become eligible to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET).
- Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education (BSc BEd) Integrated Course:
The duration of the BSc BEd integrated programme is five years. Students have to select an appropriate subject and pursue this integrated course after class 12th from science stream. Through this course also students will become eligible to appear for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET).
- Bachelor of Education (BEd):
BEd is a PG Course which a student can pursue after finishing their undergraduate Bachelor’s degree programme. The duration of this course is 2 years and the minimum qualification required is- BA, BSc or BCom Degree. Students must have qualified class 12th with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks while the minimum marks criteria may vary from one institute to another.
- Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd):
The BElEd is an elementary teacher training programme designed to train students and make then capable to take on the role of a primary school teacher. The duration of this undergraduate bachelor’s degree course is 4 years. For this course, students must have qualified class 12th with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in specified subjects.
- Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd):
DElEd is an elementary teachers training diploma certificate programme which trains students and makes them capable of taking up the role of an elementary school teacher. It’s a good alternative to B.El.Ed. course. Students must have qualified class 12th with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks while the minimum marks criteria may vary from one institute to another.
